This easy dinner uses just four main ingredients and is ready in about 30 minutes. It’s perfect for busy weeknights, game nights, or a quick family meal.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 1 tube (8 oz/226 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- ½ cup pizza sauce (or your favorite tomato sauce)
Optional toppings (not part of the 4 ingredients):
- Italian seasoning
- Garlic powder
- Red pepper flakes
- Fresh parsley or basil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet or pizza pan with parchment paper.
- Cook the beef.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6–8 minutes.
- Drain any excess grease.
- Season with salt and pepper if desired.
- Prepare the crust.
- Unroll the crescent dough.
- Press the seams together to form one large rectangle or oval.
- Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
- Add the toppings.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle on half of the cheese.
- Evenly distribute the cooked beef.
- Top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve.
- Let cool for 2–3 minutes.
- Slice into squares or strips and serve warm.
Tips
- Swap the mozzarella for a Mexican cheese blend for extra flavor.
- Add sliced pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers if you don’t mind using more than four ingredients.
- Serve with a green salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
Storage
- Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Reheat: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5–8 minutes or microwave individual slices for 30–60 seconds.
