Homemade vanilla and strawberry ice cream

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (for vanilla flavor)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, pureed (for strawberry flavor)
  • A few drops of red food coloring (optional, for strawberry color)

Instructions:

  1. Base Mixture:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Vanilla Ice Cream:
    • Divide the mixture in half.
    • In one half, mix in the vanilla extract.
    • Pour into a container and freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or churn in an ice cream maker if you have one.
  3. Strawberry Ice Cream:
    • In the other half of the base mixture, stir in the pureed strawberries. Add red food coloring if a stronger pink color is desired.
    • Pour into a separate container and freeze for 4-6 hours or churn.
  4. Serving:
    • Scoop both vanilla and strawberry ice cream into a bowl for a colorful and delicious combination.
