For the chocolate cake:

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 15×10 inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper and grease it lightly.

2. In a large bowl, beat together the eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.

3. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, mixing until well combined.

4. Pour the batter onto the prepared jelly roll pan, spreading it into an even layer. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cake springs back when lightly touched.

5. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Invert the cake onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar. Carefully peel off the parchment paper and roll the cake up in the towel, starting from one of the short edges. Let it cool completely.
