Deep Fried Pecan Pies

A crispy, golden pastry filled with gooey pecan pie filling, these deep-fried delights bring a fun and indulgent twist to a classic Southern dessert.

Ingredients

– 1 package pie crusts (2 crusts)
– 1 cup pecan halves
– 1/2 cup corn syrup
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 2 tablespoons melted butter
– Oil for frying

Directions

Prepare the filling
In a bowl, mix the pecan halves, corn syrup, brown sugar, and melted butter until well combined.

Roll out the dough
Unroll the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Using a round cutter or small bowl, cut out circles about 4 to 5 inches in diameter.

Fill and seal
Spoon a small amount of pecan filling onto one half of each dough circle, leaving space around the edges. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together with a fork to seal.

Fry until golden
Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry each pie for about 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Serve warm
Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce if desired. Enjoy immediately.
