Beer Cheese Bread is one of the easiest savory quick breads you can make. There’s no yeast, no kneading, and no long rising time. The beer provides lift and flavor, while the cheese adds richness and a soft, tender crumb. It’s perfect served warm with butter, alongside soups, chili, or as a hearty snack.
Ingredients
-
3 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 tablespoon baking powder
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
2 tablespoons sugar
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
-
1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
-
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
-
12 ounces beer (any kind you like)
-
4 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
1. Prepare the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
3. Add the Beer
Pour the beer into the dry mixture and stir just until combined. The batter will be thick and slightly lumpy, which is normal.
4. Fill the Pan
Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
5. Add Melted Butter
Pour the melted butter over the top of the batter. This creates a beautifully crisp and golden crust.
6. Bake
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the top is deep golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Cool and Serve
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
