The Greatest Queso That Ever Lived
A Velvety, Spicy, and Savory Queso Perfect for Any Party or Gathering
Ingredients:
1 block (32 oz) Velveeta cheese – the creamy base of this queso
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese – adds extra creaminess
1 can (10 oz) Rotel (original, mild, or hot) – adds a zesty, tangy kick
1 can (10.75 oz) cream of mushroom soup – makes the queso extra smooth
1 pound ground beef or sausage (or a combination of both) – adds hearty flavor (I recommend using Owens or Jimmy Dean’s HOT sausage)
Instructions:
Cook the Meat:
In a pan over medium heat, brown the ground beef or sausage (or both) until fully cooked. Set aside.
Prepare the Queso Base:
Cut the Velveeta and cream cheese into cubes and place them into a crock pot.
Add the can of Rotel (don’t drain) and the can of cream of mushroom soup. Stir the ingredients together until well combined.
Slow Cook the Queso:
Set the crock pot to low heat and let the ingredients cook for 1 hour. Stir occasionally as the cheeses melt and the flavors meld.
Add the Meat:
After about 30 minutes, add the browned ground beef or sausage to the crock pot. Continue to cook and stir as needed until everything is well incorporated and smooth.
Serve:
Enjoy this creamy, flavorful queso with tortilla chips, veggies, or as a topping for your favorite Mexican dishes.
Tips:
You can adjust the heat level by using mild or hot Rotel and sausage based on your preference.
For an extra creamy texture, stir in a little more cream cheese or a splash of milk.
This queso is perfect for any occasion, and once you try it, it might just become your go-to dip for parties!
