Ingredients:
-
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
-
1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
-
2 large eggs
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
-
1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
-
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
-
1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (optional, for extra richness)
Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
-
Mix wet ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
-
Add dry ingredients: Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until fully combined, but don’t overmix.
-
Add chocolate chips (optional): Fold in half of the chocolate chips or chunks.
-
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle remaining chocolate on top if desired. Bake for 28–32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
-
Cool: Let brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing for best results.
Tips for Extra Fudgy Brownies:
-
Use dark cocoa powder for richer flavor.
-
Don’t overbake—moist crumbs on a toothpick mean they’re perfect.
-
For even more decadence, stir in a spoonful of espresso powder.
