Homemade Mango Carlota

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages of Maria cookies
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 can of evaporated milk
  • 1 package (190g or ~7 oz) of Philadelphia-style cream cheese
  • 4 ripe mangoes (peeled and pitted)

Instructions:

  1. Make the Mango Cream:
    • In a blender, combine the mangoes, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and cream cheese.
    • Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  2. Assemble the Carlota:
    • In a rectangular or square dish, spread a thin layer of the mango cream on the bottom.
    • Add a layer of Maria cookies, covering the cream.
    • Add another layer of mango cream over the cookies.
    • Repeat the layering process until you run out of ingredients, ending with a layer of mango cream on top.
  3. Chill:
    • Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the cookies to soften and the flavors to blend.
  4. Serve:
    • Optional: Garnish with mango slices or cookie crumbs before serving.
    • Serve chilled and enjoy!
