Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries

Ingredients:

  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite variety)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large  eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Cooking spray

FOR THE DIPPING SAUCE:

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (optional for a lighter option)

Instructions:

STEP 1: PREPARE THE APPLES

  1. Peel the apples (optional) and slice them into wedges about 1/2 inch thick. Remove the core and seeds.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar. Set aside.

STEP 2: SET UP THE BREADING STATION

  1. Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and panko breadcrumbs in a third.
  2. Add half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture to the breadcrumbs and mix well.

STEP 3: COAT THE APPLE SLICES

  1. Dredge each apple slice in flour, shaking off any excess.
  2. Dip it into the egg, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  3. Press it into the breadcrumb mixture, coating evenly. Repeat for all apple slices.

STEP 4: AIR FRY

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Arrange the breaded apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
  3. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

STEP 5: SERVE

  1. Sprinkle the hot apple fries with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture for extra sweetness.
  2. Serve immediately with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping.
