2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup salt
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 cups lukewarm water
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Food coloring (optional)
Essential oils (optional for scent)
Directions:
In a large pot, mix together flour, salt, and cream of tartar.
Add water and oil to the dry ingredients and stir until a smooth batter forms.
Place the pot over medium heat and cook, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens and forms a ball.
Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
Divide the dough into separate balls for coloring.
Add a few drops of food coloring and a drop of essential oil to each ball, kneading until the color is evenly distributed.
Store play dough in airtight containers when not in use.
