Crab Cakes Recipe

 Ingredients:

– 1 lb (450 g) crab meat
– 1/4 cup mayonnaise
– 1 egg
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

Dipping Sauce:
– 1/2 cup mayonnaise
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
– Salt and pepper to taste

 Instructions:

1. **Prepare the Crab Cakes:**
– In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, parsley, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper.
– Gently mix until all ingredients are well combined. Be careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
– Form the mixture into small patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.

2. **Cook the Crab Cakes:**
– Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
– Add the crab cakes to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
– Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

3. **Prepare the Dipping Sauce:**
– In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, hot sauce (if using), salt, and pepper until smooth.

4. **Serve:**
– Arrange the crab cakes on a platter with the dipping sauce in the center.
– Garnish with fresh parsley or lemon wedges if desired.
